About Us
Welcome to my art space—I'm so glad you're here. I'm a mom, a grandma, and a former middle school math teacher who’s always believed in the power of lifelong learning. After earning my Ed.D in Curriculum and Instruction and spending years nurturing minds in the classroom, I finally gave myself permission to nurture my own creative spirit. Although I've been a closeted artist for most of my life, retirement offered me the gift of time, and the courage, to step fully into my artistic journey. I'm now back at university, not as a teacher this time, but as a student exploring the vibrant world of art.
My work is a reflection of the many layers of who I am. I primarily paint, working with acrylics, oils, and watercolor, and I'm also curious about 3D forms and textures. I’m drawn to abstract expression because color and pattern calm something deep inside me; they scratch an itch in my brain I didn’t know I had. Much of my inspiration comes from my garden and my travels; I’m fascinated by how different cultures express beauty, and I often bring those influences into my pieces. Whether you’re here out of curiosity or connection, I hope my art stirs something in you the way creating it stirs something in me.
